Scivora Technologies Inc. (“Scivora,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

This policy applies to users worldwide, including users in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Economic Area.

Our Services are distributed through the Apple App Store operated by Apple Inc. and may be offered to educational institutions and alumni networks.

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
 

1. Data Controller 

Scivora Technologies Inc. is the Data Controller for purposes of applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR. This means we determine how and why your Personal Data is processed.

2. Privacy by Design Commitment

Scivora follows data minimization: we send third-party AI providers only the content a feature requires, and we keep your recordings only as long as needed to deliver that feature.

Scripts you create or upload are saved to your library so you can reuse them, and remain until you delete them or close your account.

Practice recordings (voice and video) are retained in archival storage to generate your feedback and to improve Scivora's AI models. Recordings are deleted from active systems after 72 hours but may be retained in archival storage for model training purposes. You may request deletion of your recordings at any time by contacting help@scivora.com.

To provide AI features, the content described in "Third-party AI processing" is sent to OpenAI, Google Gemini, xAI, and Hume AI, which act as our processors under data-processing agreements and do not use your content to train their models or for their own purposes.

We do not sell your personal data.

Your creative work remains yours.

3. Privacy by Design Commitment

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the Services.

Account Information. When you create an account:

  • email address

  • authentication credentials

  • optional display name

Used solely for login and account management.

Device & Usage Information. Collected automatically to ensure reliability and security:

  • device type

  • operating system

  • app version

  • IP address

  • crash diagnostics

  • feature usage metrics

  • session timestamps

This data is used for stability, fraud prevention, and performance improvements.

User Content (Transient Processing Only). To provide rehearsal and coaching features, you may:

  • upload scripts

  • record audio

  • record video

  • This content:

    • is processed temporarily

    • is not stored by Scivora servers

    • is not added to any dataset

    • remains local to your device unless you export it yourself

Scivora does not maintain permanent copies of performance content.

Crash & Diagnostic Logs. We collect anonymized or pseudonymized technical logs to:

  • diagnose bugs

  • improve stability

  • enhance performance

These logs do not contain performance content.


4. Privacy by Design Commitment

We process Personal Data under the following lawful bases:

  • Performance of a contract – to provide the Services

  • Legitimate interests – security, fraud prevention, service improvement

  • Consent – optional features or communications

  • Legal obligations – compliance with applicable law

5. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • operate the Services

  • authenticate users

  • provide rehearsal and feedback features

  • maintain system stability

  • improve product functionality

  • detect abuse or misuse

  • provide customer support

  • comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising or data brokerage.

We respect your intellectual property and creative ownership. Scivora:

  • uses anonymized recording data and analytics to train and improve Scivora's own AI models

  • does not contribute your content to public or shared training datasets

  • does not allow third-party AI providers to train on your content

Data shared with AI service providers is processed solely to fulfill your immediate request and is contractually restricted from reuse.

7. Service Providers and Subprocessors

We use carefully selected third-party providers to operate our Services, including:

  • cloud hosting providers

  • authentication providers

  • analytics and crash reporting services

  • payment processors 

  • AI processing providers

Each provider:

  • operates under written data protection agreements

  • processes data only under our instructions

  • is prohibited from selling or reusing your data

Our website may use limited cookies or similar technologies for:

  • Authentication

  • Security

  • essential functionality

  • analytics

We do not use advertising trackers or third-party marketing cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not function properly.

We retain Personal Data only as long as necessary. Retention periods:

  • Account information: while account is active

  • Diagnostic logs: up to 30 days

  • Crash reports: anonymized and retained up to 12 months

  • Performance content: not retained

  • Support communications: as needed for resolution

Third-party AI processing. To provide our core features, Scivora transmits certain content to trusted third-party AI providers: the scripts you upload are sent to OpenAI, Google Gemini and xAI to parse them, generate scene audio, and power character-development analysis; your practice recordings (voice and video) are sent to OpenAI and Google Gemini, and to a voice/expression emotion-analysis provider (Hume AI), to generate feedback; and for the live scene-partner feature your microphone audio is streamed in real time to OpenAI. We send only the content these features require, recordings are deleted after 72 hours, and you must consent before any content is sent.

8. Third-party AI processing

To provide our core features, Scivora transmits certain content to trusted third-party AI providers: the scripts you upload are sent to OpenAI, Google Gemini and xAI to parse them, generate scene audio, and power character-development analysis; your practice recordings (voice and video) are sent to OpenAI and Google Gemini, and to a voice/expression emotion-analysis provider (Hume AI), to generate feedback; and for the live scene-partner feature your microphone audio is streamed in real time to OpenAI under a zero-retention agreement. We send only the content these features require, recordings are deleted after 72 hours, and you must consent before any content is sent. All third-party providers are contractually prohibited from using your content for their own model training.

9. Account Deletion

You may:

  • delete your account inside the app, or

  • email help@scivora.com

We will delete associated Personal Data within 30 days unless legally required to retain it.

10. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries. Where Personal Data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we use recognized safeguards including:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses

  • UK International Data Transfer Addendum

  • equivalent protections required by law

These safeguards ensure adequate protection for your data.

11. Disclosure of Information

We may disclose information only when necessary:

  • to comply with legal obligations

  • to protect rights or safety

  • to prevent fraud or abuse

  • during mergers or acquisitions

  • to authorized service providers

We never sell Personal Data.


12. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards, including:

  • encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)

  • restricted internal access

  • secure cloud infrastructure

  • routine monitoring

  • least-privilege access controls

No system is perfectly secure, but we continuously work to protect your data.


13. Children’s Privacy

While our Services are not primarily directed to children, we recognize that users under 18 may use the Services with parental consent and supervision.

For users under 13 (US) or 16 (UK/EU):

A parent or legal guardian must create or approve the account and maintain supervision of use.

We collect only the minimum data necessary: email, authentication credentials, and usage/diagnostic information.

Practice recordings are processed only to provide feedback features and are deleted from active systems after 72 hours (subject to archival retention for model improvement).

Parents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data by contacting help@scivora.com.

For users under 13 in the US, we comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by obtaining parental consent before collection.

If we discover data from a child without appropriate parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

14. Your Rights (UK/EEA)

You have the right to:

  • access your data

  • correct inaccuracies

  • request deletion

  • restrict processing

  • object to processing

  • data portability

  • withdraw consent

  • lodge a complaint with your local authority. You may contact your supervisory authority, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

15. Your Rights (US Users)

Where applicable under state laws (including California). You may:

  • know what data we collect

  • request deletion

  • request access

  • opt-out of sale (we do not sell data)

  • receive equal service without discrimination

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Services indicates acceptance of changes.
